The question is should i wear a helmet?

The answer is complicated!

In California the law says you must if you are under 18.

21212.
(a) A person under 18 years of age shall not operate a bicycle, a nonmotorized scooter, or a skateboard, nor shall they wear in-line or roller skates, nor ride upon a bicycle, a nonmotorized scooter, or a skateboard as a passenger, upon a street, bikeway, as defined in Section 890.4 of the Streets and Highways Code, or any other public bicycle path or trail unless that person is wearing a properly fitted and fastened bicycle helmet that meets the standards of either the American Society for Testing and Materials.

Will you get a ticket for not wearing a helmet.  That is up to the individual police/sheriff that sees you.

If you are a kid, and your parents have their own rule about wearing a helmet, then you should obey them and wear one.

Otherwise, it's simply up to you. We think riders should always wear helmets.  There is nothing worse than hearing horror stories about riders who get killed or severely injured just because:
they wanted to keep their hair cool!
it makes your head hot!
it hurts more when you crash!
because its just not cool.!
Honestly, it's up to you. But here's the truth .... you are going to crash. Everyone does it's part of riding. And if you crash while doing tricks like jumping stairs or grinding a handrail, there's a very very good chance that you'll hit your head. You see all these pro skateboarders that are better than you and they fall and they wear a helmet. So don't think you will never fall and get hurt.  Basically, you are carrying around a watermelon on top of your shoulders, and all the most important parts of who you are are kept inside. Not a good place to keep your brain when you think about it, but that's where it is!  The culture doesn’t change easily.  If you think your helmet is big and goofy then buy a new one that looks cool.   Buy a white helmet and put stickers all over it.  It might not be cool to wear a helmet, you might feel like a dork, but its more uncool and dorky to be paralized or have a traumatic brain injury and spend the rest of your life not only wearing a helmet but never riding again.

Our advice is that any time you have wheels under your feet, you should have a helmet on your head.

WARNING!!! FREESTYLE SCOOTERING IS DANGEROUS. Before you ride make sure to check all parts and tighten as needed.  Parts should be snug and secure. Scooters are NOT indestructible! PROPER USE is advised. TC SCOOTERZ TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY for ANY INJURIES SUSTAINED WHILE RIDING ANY Complete SCOOTERs OR SCOOTER Parts PURCHASED FROM TC SCOOTERz.

TC Scooterz ADVISEs THAT ALL RIDERS WEAR PROPER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT WHEN RIDING. THIS INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO HELMETS, ELBOW AND KNEE PADS.
